Dear Sisters and Brothers,

We’ve survived the February storms and we are now ready for warmer weather (we hope).  Growing up around the maple syrup production, my first sign of Spring coming is when the buckets are placed on the trees.

I would like to congratulate the Grand Officers on an excellent job for their first G.O.E.X.  They can be proud of their great work. Come join us for our March exemplifications.

March will be a much busier month.  We will be hosting the Wisconsin/Michigan Exchange night at Mt. Morris.  This should be a relaxing fun night with our Wisconsin sisters and brothers joining us in friendship.  Our Grand Family has prepared a great skit to share with our counterparts.  Let’s show our Wisconsin sisters and brothers a warm and friendly welcome.

To our chapters, March is reading month in the schools.  The children would love to share a book with you or have you share a favorite book with them.  Let’s be seen active in our communities reaching out to others.

On a personal note, your cards and prayers have helped to give me strength knowing the support and love that individuals and chapters have shown me.  I am slowly getting stronger and healthier.   THANK YOU!

May our light shine in our communities,

Elizabeth K. Snodgrass                                                                       Michael L. Waldo

CANCER   RESEARCH   PROJECT

is looking to raise money this year by working at Great Lakes Loons baseball games.  The venue is the Dow Diamond in Midland, MI.

We will be securing at least  four (4)  Great Lakes Loons games where we can make money by working with the food vendors for one hour before and one hour after these games begin.  We had a great time working there last year and expect to do the same this year.  When we are finished working, we are invited to stay and watch the games if we want to. We can sit in any open seat.

There are requirements; you MUST be 16 years or older, no sandals or open toed shoes, no jeans, Khaki or tan pants (Bermuda short to long pants) white shirt  or organization shirt, and we must all wear a Loons ball cap.  This is also a great opportunity to wear your Eastern Star shirts or jackets to distinguish our group from other workers.  Remember, this is all outside.  Dress for the weather!  Car pool with friends or family for an even more enjoyable experience.

If your Chapter does not have a project already planned,  perhaps this is your way to donate to this most worthwhile project.  Have some of your members agree to work at one of the games.  We can use any number, one or up to 15.  Work any game we are assigned, some dates we will know by mid-April others we get notified one or two weeks ahead.  The short notice ones, usually only 3-4 workers are needed.

                                                         For

Day games require us to be there 2 hours prior to game time.  Night games we need to be there by 5 p.m.  Game time is 7:05 p.m.  We are usually done cleaning up before 8:30.  There will be fireworks after some of the games!

Two of the games are early mornings and a lot of the fans are school children who get bussed in by their schools as a field trips!  The dates will be advised as soon as we get them, and we will pledge 15 workers who need to arrive by 8 a.m.!  One will likely be in late April and these are busy!  These games pay the most money, so please, come and help.  Our car pool will meet at the Meijer Store on Hill Rd and US 23 in Flint by 6:45 a.m.

For any questions or to reserve your spot, call Jack or Joan Wade at 810-767-3758 or 810-691-4838.

If you can help, please call asap!
